so a bulkhead of class 2 manufactor is put on a wall fed by say single core cables in high impact PVC conduit. The bulkhead being double insulated(?), and not connected to any conductive parts is ok? so what happens if say you brake the casing and cause a possible fault between P and N, without an earth how does the MCB trip, well unless the P and N are bridged say by a some ones finger?
I know it sounds silly but I'm just finding it difficult to get my head around 'no Earth' required
Thanks for the response, but can you give me some more please?
if its class 2 its either double insulated or there is a thick layer of insulating material so that if there is a fault internally, its impossible for the case to become live. and as for break the case and cause a possible fault, short P and N and the MCB will trip. and MCB doesnt need reference to earth to trip. and even if there was an earth to it, it would be in a terminal block or summit and would make no difference to the risk of shock if the case was broken
