Just found a bodged connection of PVC soil pipe to clay socket. It's been leaking a lot, for years...
I have terrible access to the clay socket which is facing up at me from within a trench 9" wide.
Can I concrete a clay stub into the VC socket, set this whole lot in more concrete to hold it still, then use a rubber adaptor to join clay to new piece of PVC?
I cannot get any cutting tools into the trench as is. The clay socket has a small amount of rust or cement in it, but I think I can clear it to offer a decent socket for the piece of clay pipe...
If I smash the socket, I have an even bigger problem...?
Any ideas please?
