I have had some kichen doors and drawer fronts made from water resistant mdf and then spray painted to match the rest of my kitchen. The look is good.

However, now that I have them back I have found that one of the drwers has been made too big. Hence I need to cut the top 30mm off the drawer front. I will then touch up the paint (Not ideal I know).

What would give me the cleanest cut? Jigsaw? Hand saw? Anything else?

Any other thoughts/tips?

Many thanks,

Sawbench with a fine tooth sawblade then sand or trim on a router table if you have access to one. You simply cannot saw MDF properly with a jigsaw or a handsaw - and it's a pig to plane, too as it knocks the edge off the plane iron. Before painting them you'll still need to seal them (Rustin's Acrylic MDF sealant) or you'll never get a decent finish on them (as MDF is also a bit like blotting paper with finishes)

Is the pattern upon the draw front keeping you from cutting the 30mm(yuck metric) off the bottom of the draw front, as if not, then it would be easier to removeit from the bottom, as any mis-cuts etc, and a slightly off paint match will not show too much!

Let's face it, Wolf, we both know it would be easier to simply remake the doors, but.... ;)
