Cleaning bare floorboards

Hi there.

I ripped up the carpet on a house I bought three months ago and have been doing lots of work to the house. It's very dusty! Eventually, I'll lay new floor, but for now I just want to lay down rugs over the floorboards downstairs so we don't have to walk around with shoes on all the time.

What is the best way to clean the floorboards to remove the dust and dirt please?

A vacuum cleaner followed by a damp rag

OK, thanks. I thought a damp rag could warp the wood? No special solution needed then?

Damp, not wet.
Use a drying cloth as well if needed
