What is the best way of cleaning up old terracota tiles? The ones I have are very old and very thick. There is very little in the way of grime and old polish / oil etc. It is mostly old mortar and salt marks on the surface of the tiles and some water marks where they have been stored outside. I can get most of the lumps of mortar off but the residue wont wash off with water and a scrubbing brush.
Any advice gratefully accepted. (I have 600 to clean!)
