Hello, we have recently had our house re-rendered and some of the old render/cement, won't come off. Do I need some sort of solvent to remove it?

Think I'd paint that trim.
Brick acid will damage uPVC. I don't think you can get that off easily

...or stick a second bit of uPVC trim over the top, staggered back from the first?

try citric acid, gentler than brick acid, will take a while though, use an old toothbrush to agitate the cleaning solution

Thanks all, just bought some UPVC paint, seems like the easiest option.

Scrape the plastic with a window scraper, then clean with UPVC cleaner.
