Just over 5 years ago when Mrs B bought a few decorative butterflies for the garden, a visiting painter sprayed them with a clear lacquer to prevent rusting. This has proved to be most successful and since we have have just bought a few more butterflies, I would like advice on the kind of clear lacquer he might have used.
Clear varnish for painted metal butterflies

- Start date
Spray in warm dry conditions. Several light coats. Observe the time between coats, as per the can. That way it will last.
