Closed the door on the seat belt too many times and now the car thinks the door isn't closed

Hi, I am at my wits end with my drivers door. The sensor thinks that the door is not shut but it clearly is. It sometimes won't lock with the fob now and i have to lock it manually. I know it's my own fault because i'm sure i've failed to ensure that the seat belt has retracted before closing the door and now it is dinted. Any ideas would be gratefully received.

The door closing sensor is actually in the lock itself, and this combined with your other issue indicates that a new door lock is needed.
Coincidence with your seat belt, methinks!
