Hi there, just to let you know that if you do call the gas emergency services, yes they'll be there very very promptly! but, all they will do if there are no visual signs of distress to the gas aplliance(s) is turn off your gas meter control handle and advise you to call in a gas safe registered engineer to investigate further as they have "NO" (none what so ever!!!) equipment to check for carbon monoxide escapes, they only have natural gas (also other forms of similar gas) detection equipment.
So a good experianced gas engineer should be called in if you do suspect c.o. escaping and also a check up at the hospital if you are worried as they can test a blood sample to see if you have c.o in there.
