Can someone put me out of my misery please?

I am going to get an electrician to do this to be safe but I want to know for my own satisfaction before he comes.

Can I power a coach light with a PIR sensor through a 1.25mm cable connected to a 13amp plug into a 13amp socket - IE no inline switch, just plug it in and out when required?

Also, the light says it must be earthed - does the plug do this job?

Ignorant I know!!

You CAN. But why would you?

If I were a spark, I wouldn't do it. Simply because I dont believe in bodges. You can quite legitimately and "legally" do it yourself though. . . .

If you're getting a spark to do it, get it done right. From the socket, to a fused spur, to the light.
