i am currently renovating a 1950s house which has a coal shed off the kitchen. this has a single layer brick wall. what is the best way to insulate this so i can use it as a toilet.

also is upvc cladding a good option to add extra insulation as a few other house in the area have done the same?

Single leaf walls can be insulated, by battening out the walls, insulating, vapour checking, then boarding out. A good option is the K18 type system.
If you google k18,...... go on then, I will do it. k18 googled
It will give you an idea of what is needed to be done, you will lose a little internal floor space.
k18 is not the only system, but the information on the pdf will give you good insight on what is best to do.
You could if you were feeling adventurous, build up a second external skin ;)
