extension built around corner of existing kitchen. removed and rerouted soil stack which was on now remove old external corner.cold main entered in same corner.once wall was removed i needed to redirect cold main along where the old external wall below floor finish height.main was entering property in unsleeved and unprotected 15mm copper.was told by builder to leave as , and just extend it.i installed 22mm speed fit to a 22mm stop tap.customer now says they want it done in copper or alcathene.what views on pros and cons on usage of these materials do the lads on here have.it will be below a 2inch screed.

did you use speedfit fittings or compression stupid question i know
compression, except where 15mm joined 22mm . it was deep down and could only use speedfit reducer.

thing is if it were a gas pipe and and you were using a fitting with a rubber seal. though you wouldnt use one anyway.would you have it underground. to me anything less than a type a or preferably a type b compression fitting or mdpe fitting wouldnt do.
too far down to get compression on.god knows how far the copper goes and why they used copper in the first place.

some underground copper was a different table to what is used externally .like now common copper is table x, where as underground was table y, i think. useless info i know but just thought id mention it
