Hi guys
can anyone shed a bit of light on why the pipe on the lockshield side of my rad is cold and the trv side is hot, and how to fix this ???? thanks

Do you mean it's stone cold, or just cold relative to the other one?

i know there should be a slight difference in temperature between the two pipes but this is quite a big difference, i wouldn't say stone cold but not far off it .
thanks

It shouldn't be much of a problem as long as the radiator's heating the room properly.

If the TRV is set to maximum and the return pipe is still cold, it's probably worth opening the lockshield valve a bit to increase the flow through the radiator.

If both valves are wide open and it's not any better, this would indicate either that there's a partial blockage, or that the whole system should be re-balanced.
