Cold tank, hot water pressure question

Hi, hope someone can answer my question...would having a larger size cold water tank help to increase the hot water pressure coming out from my hot water cylinder? ie is it the cold water pressure from the cold water tank what pushs the hot water out? or is the pressure determined by the hot water cylinder itself? the pressure is determined by the the head of water from your tank to your cylinder e.g 1m=0.1 bar so if you have the cws tank 10m high it would be 1 bar. so the only way to increase your pressure is by raising the tank.

I see, thanks for your answer....so even if I increased the size of the tank which would hold more water say from a 4gal to a 24gal, it wouldn't make any difference to the pressure at all? This is because I can't raise the height as I'm only on a single floor. Thanks again!

Yep you got it. Try a bronze booster pump if you want extra pressure

Thanks Dave, but just one more question, would there any special requirement for the bronze booster pump? I mean would my cold water tank need to have a min capacity for the pump to work? thanks

I had assumed that you have at least a 25 gallon tank. A 4 gallon tank would only be enough for a heating f&e tank
