I've just moved into a new flat and have a bath/shower mixer tap. The left tap controls the flow, the right trap controls the temperature, and it has a red button set at 38C.

Having supplied hot water for the last month, the tap will now only supply cold water now. HELP!

The tap is brand new, and I'm getting hot water ok in the kitchen sink and bathroom basin. Someone has suggested the water was too hot, and the circuits in the right tap have cut out for safety purposes?

Is it easily fixable DIY stylie? There is a small hole for an allen key on the underside of the right tap.

Any suggestions welcome - very bad timing for cold showers!

Sounds like you have a thermostatic mixer tap.

If the tap is not faulty, you should check how it has been piped. Is the hot water from a cylinder? You will probably find it has been supplied from a cylinder and the cold is from the mains.

Check your pipework by tracing back.
