So I pick up a colour I am getting low on for a bannister job. I have often used Colron stains & mixed them often to get the right shade. Not any more you don't...spirit base & water base makes a really nasty sludge. The small print on the back of the tin reveals its now water based.
I tried it & found it performed well under par...in fact it acts like a thin paint & not a wood stain at all.
Goodbye Colron forever... I'm going to source my own raw ingredients & make my own.
