I would like to settle an argument can someone please help, when filling a central heating system that has a combination boiler, to get the pressure say to 3 bar would you need 3 bar pressure on the mains going into the filling loop.
Yes you need more pressure available in the supply than yo want to put in the system.
The nominal pressure should be about 1.5 bar in most cases. It only needs to be different if the building is over two stories or the boiler is not on the ground floor.
