Hi,

I have a Biasi M96A combi boiler and a Mira Excel shower.

To decorate an upstairs bedroom I removed the TRV, fitted a decorating cap, drained the radiator and took it off the wall.

When finished I put the rad back and re-connected both ends. I then opened the bleed valve until some water dribbled out and did it up again.

At this point the hot water stopped working. Upon checking it seemed I needed to fill the system to increase the pressure in the boiler to about 1.5 bar. I did so, and hot water began working again.

Despite the hot water and heating working ok, the shower now wasn't heating, and neither was the radiator I had removed. Not only did it not get hot, a little water was leaking out of the bleed valve. I assume this is broken.

I took the TRV off the faulty rad and refitted the decorating cap. I drained the rad and removed it from the wall again.

The boiler pressure had dropped a little as a result so I topped it back up to about 1.5 bar.

The shower still doesn't get hot. When I set it to the highest possible temp, the boiler doesn't 'fire up'. I have measured the water coming out of the shower and it's taking nearly a minute to spit out 1 litre. Boiler manual says it needs min 2.5 litres per min to function.

I have checked as much pipework as I can see and see no leak. Everything was fine until I put that radiator back on for the first time.

Presumably there is some air somewhere in the system? Preventing flow to the shower?

Any idea how I can fix this? Should I bleed every radiator in the house? Is there a way of bleeding the shower? Is that a really stupid question?

Any advice gratefully received. Can live without the bedroom radiator for the moment but the missus is going to get pretty grumpy if she can't take a shower...!

The heating circuit the rad's connected to will have no connection to the DHW the shower's connected to. If hot taps work the shower should work. Unless it's developed a problem of its own, co-incidentally.

Err, the hot taps DO work, don't they?
