My man has condemned the old WB Junior in my rental property and he's "too old to fit boilers"

Looking at the online box slingers around the £1,800 mark for a budget 24kw (little house, electric shower) with flush, stat and mag filter.

Need a 5 year warranty as I'm flogging within that timeframe.

The flavours of the month seems to be a Gloworm Compact /Ideal Atlantic apart from one local guy who offered a Greenstar 1000 for £1,800 and gave me his spiel suggesting that WB are the only one's that will honour the warranty? Am I having my leg pulled on this? And which (if any) is the best of these.

Thanks

Certain manufacturers will try anything to duck out of warranty claims, not sure on WB. Why is the existing condemned?

Why is the existing condemned?

It's approaching 20 years old, my engineer is old school and fixes them - he's replaced the hydraulic blocks on both sides, the flow turbine and countless other plastic parts in it over the past 4 years - I reckon 7 -10 repairs.

This week he's replaced a small plastic angled pipe that had a pinhole (he said he's never seen that bit leak before but the merchant told him they sell loads).

Still losing water after the above so he thinks it was also leaking from one of the pipes that goes up the back - he reckons it's been rubbing against the frame and he'd have to take the boiler off the wall, which might knacker the flue etc. He did offer (I think because he's a mate) but suggested replacement given it's age and the fact that nothing (other than the plastic crap) has ever been replaced.

From my point of view, it always seems to go wrong when I'm on holiday, it's hassle for my tenants etc.

Go with the Ideal , I have fitted loads , only had to call them out twice both were fixed the next day with no drama .
