Love Stewart Lee.This is how to engage with an audience and warm them up. Proper explosions of laughter which build throughout. Many other comedians, including Bill Bailey, don't really know how to interact with an audience.
Not that tw*t please!

Stuart Lee is the ultimate regime comedian. Brexit...Trump...Tory scum, you name it he does it.
A few years ago there was a similar comedian often found on Radio 4 panel shows: Jeremy Hardy. Every time he opened his mouth the communist manifesto would spew out, and the tame crowd loved it. One of the things that made me stop listening to R4. Him and Sandi Toksvig.

I haven't heard the joke by Jimmy Carr but from the headlines i can understand why a joke like that is offensive to the people concerned...it's impossible to find anything funny about the Holocaust and i agree he should be censured but he's always pushed the boundaries of good taste to make people wince and i'm sure he'll do it again.
I've never been a fan of stand-up comedy as they always come across as a bit too needy - apart from Robin Williams, who could bring me to the point of an aneurysim when he was on form.
Extremists aren't going to get any worse for hearing a joke, nor will they change their minds by listening to the wailing of the Woke.
He was very, very, good in One Man Two Guvnors.
Try Bill Bailey, or Henning Wehn.
And too late now, but you could have tried Ken Dodd.
"He can prove anything with facts."Like him or loathe him, he's a master of the craft.
