Concrete floor

Hi, we are due to have a carpet fitted in 2 weeks time. we have also just removed the back boiler etc etc and now the concrete where the fire was needs some attention. i have some self leveling compound for some of it but the rest is actualy higher than the rest of the floor, am i better chipping away at it then leveling it or is there somthing i can hire? theres only about 3sq ft to do .
