Hello all,

I'm currently making an application for for a certificate of lawful development for a single story extension
at back of my two story house. I wasn't planning on putting the extension on until the rest of the housse was done.
However, I was going to make access for the door and utilities before the kitchenw as rendered. I was going
add a 1500mm reinforced concerete lintle to the internal skin / load bearing wall of the cavity wall. The External skin would not be touched at
this point. The door way will be max 1000mm. The application for the extension will be put through on a building notice. Would BC require calcs
for the lintles?

Thanks

James

JUst ask building regs, thats what they are there for...

No calcs needed for the lintel

But if putting this new opening in creates slender piers or corner buttressing issues, then calcs will be required for that
