Hi,

The concrete path against the side of my house is too high, covering some of the DPC, the concrete is also cracked in serveral places. There is also a drain against this side of the wall with a removable box that sits on top of the drain as a cover, underneath there are 2 open ended plastic pipes(both look very rickety) that flow waste/water into the drain.

Any ideas on the best way to go about fixing this with the outcome being as cheap as possible and a new pathway leading to the garden?

Also do the pipes sound like they need to be replaced aswell (latest building regs etc)- wondering if there is any way that they could be moved under the surface so that you only see the drain cover not the exposed waste pipes too?

Thanks & Cheers

The proper way would be to dig it up and relay it 150mm below damp. You will find waste pipes in older houses do look a little worse for wear after a few years, I would not advise in trying to put them underground, just make sure they are clipped back neat and tidy
