Hello Folks ,

This year , I`m hoping to extend my pond . It will be made from concrete blocks on a base of about 8" .
I`m wondering if I can lay the base myself , rather than have ready-mix delivered .
Ive done some rough calculations , and reckon I`m going to need about 1 cubic meter . The pond floor will be around 5 square meters .
If I hire a concrete mixer , would there be any problems having a go myself

Mixing concrete is quite easy, if labour intensively. Make sure it's all shuttered in and dry for a few days when you do the job.

Thanks for that . I dont mind a bit of hard work :) Would there be any benefit to laying some damp proof sheeting underneath . Ive seen this done on some pond - build blogs .
