Fish Pond Base

My Koi Carp have outgrown their existing pond and the time is right for an up grade.

I am looking at an 4 Meter x 2.5 Meter x 1 Meter pond, concret base with block walls and rendered.

Question is, how thick would the base need to be and would it need to be re-enforced as the water will weigh about 10,000Kg not counting the blocks and render

Six inches shoud be plenty.
And shouldn't need reinforced providing the base is firm.
