I have a project to complete for a customer, part of which is to build a metal ring tank with rubber membrane liner.

The tank is large 24' diameter and will hold 125,000 litres of water. As i understand it that equates to 125 metric tonnes.

Is there a very particular type of concrete required for this kind of project with the above weight directly on the base or is a standard concrete mix adequate ?

are you putting mesh layers in this ? it will reduce the thickness
and you'll probably need fibres as well + it will want pokering
phone the concrete company tell them the expected load and they'll give you the best advice.
