Thanks for the post on condensation.
I have a question; I’m just about to insulate my loft area, that time of year for a lot of us!
My house, built in 1930 so solid brick, has only 100mm of insulation. The way the walls have been built the brickwork rises through the rafters until it hits the tiles. So there is no air from the soffit. The soffit itself is vented separately with vent holes.
My question is should I put the insulation right up to the tiles joint of the tiles and brick work? Or leave a gap that is not insulated around the perimeter?
If I don’t there will be a perimeter of the house circa 9”s that will only have 12.5mm plasterboard, felt and tiles for insulation. If I need to leave a gap then I could use some foil bubble insulation.
The roof is felted and has roof vents (assume the vets are as no air from the soffit).
Any advice would be appreciated.
