Hi All,

I need to know what cable i need to replace old mains cable on my 32amp socket ring main.

The cable will need to run inside fixed galvanised steel conduit in the walls so ordinary T&E won't fit.

I presume i need separate conduit wiring but can't work out which stuff.

Is it this i need?

The earth in 2.5mm T/E isn't 2.5mm itself, (1.5mm IIRC), but whether you are allowed to do the same when using singles in conduit, I don't know.

does that mean that the live and the neutral are correct. If so then the eart is correct (2.5).

Thanks

A standard 32A ring is indeed wired in 2.5. The earth is usually 1.5, but there is nothing stopping you from using 2.5 instead.

Cal, remember to attach the new cables to the old BEFORE you pull them out, otherwise you will need a draw tape.

also remember that conduit singles should never be exposed

i mean they shouldn't leave conduit/trunking/accessory boxes
