Increasing domestic solar generation will obviously tend to shift the balance in that direction. However, I suspect that an even bigger shift (which, potentially, could ultimately reverse the current pattern of day/night demand) is a progressive increase in nocturnal EV charging. On the other side of the equation is the fact that heat pumps will presumably result in an increase in daytime demand - so who knows where the 'balance' will end up?!
