Hi all

Recently bought a remote control dimmer switch for my living room.

The switch turns on/off 2 ceilng lights.

I took off the old switch, which was wired the following way:

2 browns cables into 'common' and 1 brown cable into 'L1'

But.

The new dimmer switch has different descriptions.

It has:

'Live' [live with a downward pointing arrow]
'Load' [an upward facing arrow with a wave trough it]
and 'S' which is Slave i presume, and not needed.

My question is, which wire is Live and Load from my old Common and L1??

I ended up putting the 2 wires into Load and the single wire into Live - and it works, but i'm a little paranoid it may be the wrong way round, would it not work if the case?

Thanks for any help

a confused Chris

As it is a remote controlled dimmer, these can sometimes be a bit fussy about supply and load being the correct way around, so you may be aswell to swap them round just to be sure.

Thanks for the help. Just switched them in the dark and it seems to work the same, but without the very slight humm that it had before!!

Now to try get the darn box back on the wall - screws are proving very hard to align!!
