I am going to build an arbour in the garden.

The length of the beam will be 13 metres (150 x 47) and will be connected to timber posts (100 x 100).

I will buy 3 lengths of beam to make the 13 metres span, I will then connect them together when I get them home.

But how should I connect them.

Any help appreciated, many thanks.

I cannot picture this, you cannot span 13 metres with timber of that size, or do you mean 3 beams end to end, with regular posts along the way?

Post to beam connections are best drilled and bolted.

Deluks, yes that's exactly what I mean and you've answered my question - thank you.
