Conservatory roof

Where my conservatory roof joins the wall of the house, a piece of ... felt? ... covered in a sticky stuf, has fallen through (see photos below).

In the the recent heavy storm, water came in and ran down the wall at this point.

What is this stuff?
Can I just stuff it back up (and hold in place by inserting some wood to hold it?)
Do I need a more complex solution?
Or a conservatory specialist/builder?



 
It will need to be repaired from outside.
probably be able to diy..a pic from outside would help.

Looks like you need a bit of render work replaced at the bottom of the flashing, access looks to be a problem as well.

I would call a roofer. not a big job though.
