Consumer stuff on the suppliers board

Looks like BAS's interpretations of good plumbing are questionable as well.

In addition, I don't like the look of those tight 90' bends in his earth cables. Could possibly be a Code 2 for those! Only two earthing cables from the MET - so I'm guessing there 'could' be a main bond missing or (dare I say it) a main earth to CU missing. No supports on earth cable - Code 4.

MET not labelled either.

From what I've seen so far, it's looking like an Unsatisfactory if a PIR were done.

I retract the statement as regards the plumbing.

I do not retract the statment regarding the worrying and elementary defects on view in the photo of the electrical installation. These are a matter of fact and serve as an ideal illustration of typical defects found in DIY installations.

Uhm - well he may be leading you up a culvert without a spoon which would expose an apparent willingness on your behalf (and a couple of others) to have a go. I think it would be better if we all played on line chess. I'll start - Red Kings Prawn 3 to Orange Bishop.

thripster, he probably tried to do as you say, but now he has posted some of his work for us all to see, the proof is in the pudding so to speak...

but I agree, the whole point of a discussion forum is to discuss and not to reduce ever comment to pedantic pedantry. :)

no, sorry. 1 point away and miss a turn.

I've had a close look and there is a third wire but it's not regulation green/yellow and it's almost invisible in the shadows. My best guess is that it's two strands of bare copper - correction, heavily oxidized copper. There's a small loop of it visible just below the board.

No, I'll start: P - KKt4. Black to play and mate in two ---

PS: To get back to the original post, I have a nice new Henley block on the bottom of my 1935 vintage meter board but who put it there? The seal on the service fuse is intact ---

The 'third' wire is the supplier's means of earthing in what appears to be TN-S.
