Control problem....?

Get a bloody proper gas man in who can use a multimeter and see if its wired up wrong. For all the time you are ****ing about trying to fix it you could be at work doing overtime hence being able to afford to pay for a proper engineer

i would power down, unhinge 805 programmer switch back on power nothing should happen. if CH comes on contacts gone in CH head maybe. If HW comes on contacts gone in HW head maybe. If nothing comes on, as it shouldn`t link piece of wire from live term to CH "on" term CH should now come on if room stat calling and switch off when satisfied. then do same with HW term, HW should come on if tank stat calling switch off when satisfied. Remove links clip 805 back on if CH or HW start with programmer in OFF OFF position 805 is defective.

Get a b****y proper gas man in who can use a multimeter and see if its wired up wrong. For all the time you are p******g about trying to fix it you could be at work doing overtime hence being able to afford to pay for a proper engineer

It's a point of view I suppose but it does have three drawbacks:

1) You learn nothing.
2) It's not easy to spot the 'proper' engineer amongst the cowboys.
3) You learn nothing.

This is a DIY forum. People who prefer to pay others to get their hands dirty can use Yellow Pages. Yes, it will cost loughor more in lost overtime to fix this than it would cost to pay a gasman with a multi-meter but what price do you put on education.

PS: How many *'s should there be in p*****g?

Well.......it was the controller. There wasn't much left apart from the boiler, was there!?!

Picked one up on ebay for the princely sum of £11.07, delivered.

Really enjoyed being part of the Sherlock Holmes of the central heating world!

Sorted.

Thanks again.
