Hi Folks,

I have recently bought a cast iron fireplace to fit in the old opening in my living room. I got a good deal for a nice solid fuel one and now want to do as much myself as I can before calling in a gas fitter.

Does anyone know roughly how much they cost and where is best to purchase a gas insert to fit the existing solid one i have (I want to keep the insert I bought for decoration). I'd also appreciate any advice you can provide on what i need to do with the chimney, there isnt an existing fireback or flue lining (bare brick in view). I am getting a fire fitter to give me a quote for the gas conversion this week and he will test the chimney too...

Thanks

Gerry
