Can anybody help.

Is there a regualtory / standard height that a kitchen cooker chimney extractor needs to be above the hob? :?:

High enough that you do not bang your head on it when working at the hob.

(this is not statutory just sensible)

Hi,

Yes, the corner of a s/s cooker hood is particularly unforgiving. However practical considerations will probably limit the height of the hood. It will look silly if it's way up in the air. Our hood is as high as it will go to take an elbow for the vent along the top of the wall cupboards. That's 880 mm above the work surface. It's still mid-forehead height.

Rgds.
