Hi,
Think I need a new element for the cooker, the other day was warming up the oven and heard an odd noise went to investigate and the oven was filled with smoke. Have since tried the oven and it is just blowing out cold air.
Now I have 2 quotes so far . to supply and fit would be between £80-£100,does this sound fair?
Or how easy is it to do DIY?
Thanks.

Its not that difficult to do.
Check how much you can get the element for (there may be more than 1, ensure you get the correct 1, although fan ovens its usual the 1.)
When you know the element price, you will know what you are being charged.
Then its up to you.
I think if you are being charged £30 labour that would be ok.£50 Try it yourself, but the terminal could come away from the wire & you may regret starting it.
