hi there, im looking at installing a new cooker in a kitchen refit and would like a cooker hood (a.k.a. fume hood, extraction hood etc.).

the question is, can i put it in and then run some ducting up the unused (but vented and loose capped) chimney?

im guessing i will need a pretty good filter so i dont line the inside of the chimney breast with grease.

has anyone done/seen this done before or am i being silly?

here is the current situation. no need to comment on the decor :P
