Cooker socket tripping RCD

Moron.

I know that

I was just immensely surprised to see such a cooker isolator switch like that. Rare to say the very least.
Your first post sounded as though you had never seen one and I would imagine a lot of younger electricians have not. I'm not sure you needed to be so so snotty to someone who perhaps was trying to educate you.

Murdochcat

You totally did not need to behave like that.

IDK how many times you have seen round pin sockets (2A, 5A, 15A or 30A) but it is still permissable to fit them providing the outlets are shuttered.

I think i do.

John D has a very long track record of talking down to contributors so i thought id do the same to him to see how he feels.

It’s like he’s one of the untouchable crew , knows it and plays on it

The cleanliness or rather lack of it on and around that cooker control unit does not instill confidence that a new replacement will be treated any differently :shakes head:

Murdoch:

I have been here since 2004.

I don't think he talks down to me.

May I say I feel there is a huge difference between talking down to someone and insulting them.
There's no need for insults.

I don't believe anyone here is untouchable, unless they are a mod, and I don't believe he is.

But even then (and I must say here IDK how DIYnot works) some forums have someone policing the mods. Because after all, if they are posting as well as modding, they should be moderated too.

Every other forum I use, the mods are clearly labelled as such. I believe that should be the case here too, but that is obviously a decision for others.

Scally-Ho (or should that be Scally-Ho! The only forum poster in the country with an exclamation mark in their name)

I have seen far worse that hasn't tripped the RCD.
But, who knows, there could be steam running down the wall into the CCU.

Benedictus:

Can you post a picture of the consumer unit where the RCD is please?

Are there any other circuits connected to the RCD?

If he offends you so badly why not use the ignore button.
