hi please can you advise me on the following

I was advised by my sister that her cooker switch was making a crackling noise so I popped over to have a look.

its a cooker switch with single socket with neon , I pulled the fuse and unscrewed the switch cover, replaced the fuse and tested between line and neutral and line and earth and get 240V on the supply side...

I tested on the load side and get nothing is this simply down to a faulty switch ?

The Neon does light up when the cooker switch and single socket switch are on

cheers

Stephen

You should get 230/240 v on the load side when switch is ON.

Sounds like a faulty switch, though bit odd the neon comes on when it should...
