coolant tank leaking on mondoe mk3.

hi,its one thing after another with cars innit!!first the rear calipers went,got an irrepairable puncture on a nearly new tyre now this.after sourcing the leak ive discovered that there is a crack right underneath the tank afetr removing the 3 10mm bolts and having a look yesterday.when the car gets hot the leak is bigger maybe due to expansion.it was too late to start going to the scrapyard yesterday and frauds were shut.ive got frauds own coolant so i was thinking of draining down and repairing with some mastic along the crack.is this not wise,i cant see why not just to save money.not sure how much one would cost from the scrapper??15££??.maybe to be on the safe side i should get one or would a bodge be ok..ive got some leak sealer for radiators that i have in the shed to use on the ones in the house(fernox) .thanks

get another one, cant be that expensive even for a new one

£25 all in from ford. or 10 from scrapper. gonna get a new one mi thinks

There will be a bit of pressure there when it is hot so using mastic probably won't work, but the £25 option sounds good.
