Looking to replace two rads. In heating system 15mm copper piping comp joints and rad valves should I use ptf tape over olives before tightening fittings?

you dont have to but some people do, if you feel that you need to then make the joint and tighten the fitting so that the olive from the fitting bites into the pipe then split the fitting add the ptfe to the olive then remake the fitting , if you just add the PTFE first the olive wont bite onto the pipe and you will have an insecure fitting, to be honest you shouldnt really have to use PTFE if you make the joint properly
