Corroded shut off valves

Hi guys,

I've attached 2 pictures of corrosion on 2 shut off valves in the pipework of my apartment. I have a plumber coming next week to repair them. Are they something I should be worrying about before then, are they likely to burst or leak if I leave them much longer?

In a word NO.
Don`t be suprised if he cleans the area and nips the nut up slightly, then checks for leakage.
