Hi,
Our dishwasher (Indesit DI450 UKC) stopped washing dishes properly and there was a slight burning smell during a wash and after looking inside we could see the heater element was covered in blackened / burnt limescale so we suspected this was the issue. I was planning to replace the heater element so I took the bottom off to see how easy it would be to do but while doing so saw that the motor / pump had this corrosion on it - photos attached.
Would it be ok to continue to use it like this or does it signify a major issue? We are hoping to move home this year and the dishwasher is a slimline integrated one so I didn't really want to spend a lot repairing it (a new motor is about £120) or buy a new dishwasher. If it is advisable not to use it then I'll probably leave switched off and won't bother replacing the heater element.
Any help much appreciated!
Thanks!
