I will drink coffee cold, cold coffee in the restaurant in Hong Kong cost more than hot coffee. But wife wants it hot, and will not drink cold coffee. So when she has nodded off and wakes up to a cold cup, I am often charged with rewarming in the microwave.
Now it is not rewarmed to boiling, just hot enough to still drink, and re-heating saves the cost of the instant coffee, whitener, oat milk and saccharin, I hate saccharin, but wife want it. Or make a new cup of coffee? I do not like re-heated coffee, but I use cow's milk, old fashion in that way, but the rubbish in her cup, is not really affected by the re-heat.
So four options, one make a new cup using the one cup boiler, put it in the microwave and reheat the old cup, pour it into a pan and re-heat on the induction hob, and forth pour some into the coffee frothier, which also heats it, and froth it as well.
It is not down to simple energy used, as it does impact the taste, and also quicker or longer so time to do it within TV advert time. And I can't assess the taste, as I will drink it cold, lived in Hong Kong for too long. What do other people do? Is it a new cup, or re-heat old cup? I did try mixing cold water, instant coffee and milk, to drink cold, it does not taste right, not a clue why.
