I still have an overheat problem on my Potterton statesman oil boiler - where the overheat red light keeps coming on every 3-4 hours. I think it may be a problem with the Wilo Gold 60 pump (either being defective or no powerful enough). Could this be correct? Or could it be due to it having no overrun?

Thanks

What controls (room & cyl stats, zone valves) have you?

Auto bypass valve?

I dont remember your boiler well enough to say if it has a built in pump over run. even if it has then your pump may not be connected to it.

Its very easy to see if its caused by an "over run" based problem. Wire your pump seperately to a cable and plug and leave your pump running constantly and see if it still overheats.

I have a room stat and a lifestyle LP241 control. On the tank end there are 2 divertor valves for hot water and heating.

Agile - that is a great idea - at least I can eliminate the pump overrun problem!

Thanks
