Covert 2 Way Dual Gang to 2 Way Single Gang Light

This is liable to be a right mess now with crossed switch drops and crossed and interconnected strappers.

Assuming at each switch, you have a cable with Red and Black and two cables with Red, Blue and Yellow

do this at BOTH switches.

L1 - 3 Reds
L2 - Black & 2 Blues
Com - 2 Yellows

Indeed in each of the switches there were 2 L1, 2 L2 and 2 COM.

I know.

In each of the new single gang switches i connected both COM to COM, both L1 to L1 etc.

What did you have in each terminal?

Which of the 2-way light switch arrangements did you have?

My thought is that on one of the switch drops you've got the permanent and switched lives the wrong way round.

Or you had 2-core strappers, with permanent live into COM at one and switched live out of COM at the other, but the permanent lives for each light were at different ends.


I think we may be reaching the old Plan A & Plan B situation...
