there is a cable in the loft that is bow string tight straight across the rafters to feed some lights..
there was a taped up connector block that i tought was an added socket to a ring.. upon removing the tape, it turns out that the ring is intact, it's just the earths that is in a single connector block ( making a cross connection on that part of the ring ).. the outer sheath has been stripped back and the earths cut and re-joined.. must have been a break in it and this was the only way they could figure to fix it..
