I have cracking on the render 4 inches below the bellcast - quite clear in the photo.. The cracking is the exact level of the dpc and goes around the entire house. At one corner whete the dpc is exposed, the dpc appears to extend a few mm beyond the face of the blocks.
I've read plenty to suggest the bellcast and dpc should be at the same level, but this just isn't going to happen. There is no evidence that the dpc being bridged is causing issues inside the house. In fact the house lay empty and incomplete for 15 years, with incomplete gutters and still there was no issue.
I could angle grind immefiately below the bellcast, kango off the render and then replace the entire render below the bellcast but I'm trying to avoid this, and hence my post
Is there a plastering process/product that could be applied, preferably 5 mm or less, to maintain the bellcast overhang at 10mm (the current overhang is approximately 15mm)? I was thinking maybe plasterers mesh cut to 200mm straps, with an appropriate plastering product?
One other thing approximately 20mm to 50mm will be added to the height of the path to improve it's look.
Thanks in advance for replies
