Greenbrigade

Hi, an elderly neighbour has some worries about this crack in her kitchen. It appeared a year or two ago. I guess it’s 2-3mm thick. What do you think?

Greenbrigade, good evening.

OK a crack, but? it is not going anywhere at all? there are no cracks of similar dimensions above, left or right.

What may?? I stress MAY be happening is that the crack is in the "lining paper" [if indeed it is lining paper] on the wall and on the ceiling as well?

There are several other cracks, left and right of the open crack as well as on the ceiling, there are traces of such cracks visible in the image posted, the two wall cracks are horizontal, not following the same line as the open crack?

Suggest you get up close, see if you can gently press the paper?? on each side the crack appears to close?

Ken.

Some slight movement had cracked the plaster. That's a common thing at a common location.
